4 months later will not play Blu-Ray Moview - Caren Beckwith -
I purchased this blu-ray player at the end of March. By the end of July it would no longer play blu-ray disks. I contacts sustomer service who stated I probably needed a firmware update. I downloaded the update and installed it on my player. This did not correct the problem. I called again and was told that sometimes downloaded updates do not work and they would mail me out a disk. This disk took almost 2 weeks to arrive. I called during the wait and was told they were out of disks but it should arrive any day. Once I recieved the disk, I completed the update steps. The player STILL will not work. Funai customer service is now telling me if I want it repaired they will charge me at least for labor! They will only cover the parts! I realize that this was not the most expensive blu ray player, but I will not pay almost the same amount for a repair that I paid to buy the unit LESS THAN 6 months after I purchased it. And, if this is the kind of customer service that I will recieve from Sylvania/Funai, I will not be purchasing any more of their products.
