This product is low quality. I am a lucky owner, it has basically worked for me on the DC adapter (car use), but it is flaky. It will not play most DVD+R or DVD-R format reliably, nor CD-R or CD+R. It generally handles DVD-ROM. Many folks have problems with Disc Read errors after a few months (Usually a dirty internal laser lens). [I've not had this issue.] Battery life on Normal is 2 hours, but you have to really work at it, power cycling the battery every few months. On "low/dimm" brightness the battery lasts a bit longer. On one of my units the drive motor is noisy, and spins up poorly. The power switches are flaky after a few months, and you have to sometimes fiddle with it. This is a problem when kids are watching in the car. Pluses: Car mount pack is nice. Remote control has always worked when batteries nickle cell is in good charge. Sound is fine on my unit, but many people report what appears to be a completely broken audio amplifier. [...] website is down, and phone support is useless. I would not pay more than for a unit at this point (and shipping or free). Unless you get a great price, or are a gambler and feel lucky, probably you should look elsewhere.
